Background
I worked as a research ecologist from 1978 until 1994. At this time my fourth child became seriously ill and was not helped by orthodox medical treatment. A friend gave me a homeopathic consultation for him as a gift and the experience changed my life. I decided to train as a homeopath at The Sheffield School of Classical Homeopathy, obtaining my Licence to Practise in 1998 and my registration with the Society of Homeopaths in 2000  www.homeopathy-soh.org

In 2005 I became a registered member of the Alliance of Registered Homeopaths (MARH) and a practitioner supervisor www.a-r-h.org .
I have run a busy private practice in Huddersfield since 1998 and during this time I have conducted trials into the acceptability and effectiveness of homeopathy for two Primary Care Trusts. I am currently involved in research into the effectiveness of homeopathy in the treatment of fibromyalgia at Barnsley Hospital.
.
Standards
I am committed to continuing professional development: I undergo regular supervision, attend and speak at a number of seminars each year, am involved in evidence based research into homeopathy and I am an associate lecturer with the Open University www.open.ac.uk . I adhere to the Alliance of registered Homeopaths code of ethics that detail exacting standards of professionalism, confidentiality and safety.

Experience
I established my own practice in Huddersfield in 1998. I have worked for the NHS in South Huddersfield www.huddersfieldcentral-pct.nhs.uk and North Kirklees www.northkirklees-pct.nhs.uk and am currently involved in research into using homeopathy to treat fibromyalgia at a local hospital.

As I run a busy general practice, I have experience in treating people of all ages and with a wide range of health problems. The list of conditions that can benefit from homeopathy is endless, from asthma to arteriosclerosis, gout to glandular fever, infertility to influenza, menopausal problems to manic depression, trauma to tinnitus and vertigo to veruccas.

I have a particular interest in treating children, I have treated young people with ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression and difficult or challenging behaviour as well as some of the conditions more commonly treated with homeopathy such as deafness, glue ear, recurrent tonsillitis, tummy aches, food intolerance, bedwetting, poor sleep, ME and migraine. I have found that homeopathy can make a profound and lasting difference to the mental and physical health of children.

I co-ordinate a network of independent complementary therapists who are working in the South Huddersfield area www.whatsyouralternative.co.uk . We meet regularly to discuss our different approaches to treatment and offer reduced cost treatments to each others clients where these are considered likely to be beneficial.
